Visual Impact Assessments Visual and Landscape Impact Assessments have become a statutory requirement of Environment Impact Assessment (EIA). Large scale developments such as wind farms, landfill sites and large industrial proposals require an EIA, and a visual and landscape impact assessment will form part of this. The Planning Authority will also consider the use of visual and landscape impact assessment for significant applications in National Scenic Areas or for proposals that may impact upon important views, landscapes and settlements.
